My work employs traditional photographic processes involving the use of cameras, film, enlargers, paper and darkroom chemistry. Unless otherwise noted, the images on this site are flatbed scans of gelatin silver prints with minimal manipulation for website presentation.
The 35mm images are produced using a variety of Canon EOS camera bodies and lenses. The large format images are produced using a Zone VI 4x5 field camera and a variety Schneider lenses.
I use Zone System methods for testing materials and processes as well as for previsualization of the final, printed image and for determining initial exposure and planned film development. I do this somewhat less so when using 35mm equipment.
The images in the Holga gallery are produced with a much lower-tech aesthetic. They're made with what is essentially, a toy camera. Here's the Wikipedia article on the Holga.
In the darkroom, I use both "f-stop" and "split-grade" printing techniques in concert. Most of my prints are produced on fiber based papers and are fixed, washed and toned for archival permanance.
